When I watch this scene I can’t help but consider Thorin, and how I wish he had lived to see a day much like this one. And Gandalf would place a crown upon his head, and Fili and Kili would be standing on the sides smiling and laughing like children, his men standing amongst the people of Dale and Laketown, the elves of Mirkwood…And then there’s Bilbo whom he hugs again and the feelings would be so great.
